Pietro Massimo Marangio
Pietro Massimo Marangio is counsel of the Firm since 2015, where he deals with banking, financial and insurance law (including the interdisciplinary aspects of the mentioned areas, such as unit- and index-linked life insurance policies and bank-insurance) and all the relevant regulatory issues related thereto. Pietro Massimo assists Italian and foreign insurance groups, banks and financial intermediaries (e.g. investment firms, asset management companies, funds and electronic money institutions), advising them also in connection with international extraordinary transactions and liaising with the competent supervisory Authorities. He gained a remarkable experience in banking regulation, investment services, financial products issued by insurance companies and in fund formation (also after implementation of the AIFM Directive).
A graduate in law (in 2000) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, on 2004 Pietro Massimo completed an LL.M. – European Master in Law and Economics – at George Mason University School of Law, Arlington (VA, USA) and University of Hamburg (Germany). In 2003, he was admitted to the Milan Bar and, since 2017, he is authorized to plead at the Italian Supreme Court. Teaching assistant (“cultore della materia”) at the Chair of Institutions of Economic Law and Financial Markets at Università Cattolica of Milan for more than a decade, Pietro Massimo has also been recommended by PLC Which lawyer? as insurance law expert.
Prior to joining Gitti and Partners, Pietro Massimo had worked for three important Italian law firms and for a US firm leader in the insurance law.
